🚚 Do you deliver party equipment?
Standalone party equipment must generally be collected and returned by the customer, unless delivery is specifically included in the product description.
Packages that include equipment delivery will be delivered, set up and collected by our team, unless otherwise stated.
📅 How long is my hire for?
Your hire period is based on the date selected when booking.
Need your equipment the day before or an additional day? An additional hire fee will apply and must be agreed with us beforehand.
🚗 What vehicle do I need for collection?
We recommend using a medium to large vehicle, depending on the size of your order.
For safety and to prevent damage, our equipment cannot be transported in utes or trailers.
We reserve the right to refuse collection if we believe the equipment cannot be transported safely. In this situation, the booking may be cancelled without a refund.
🏰 How long can I hire a bouncy castle or soft play?
Bouncy Castles: Up to 6 hours of playtime
Soft Play: Up to 4 hours of playtime
Our setup and pack-down time does not come out of your allocated playtime.
📆 How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible. Our availability is limited each weekend, and our bouncy castles, soft play and balloon packages are particularly popular.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid 7 days before your event.

We are now fully online and no longer operate a walk-in shop.
⏱️ How long does setup take?
Bouncy Castles: Approximately 20 minutes per castle
Balloon Packages: Approximately 10–30 minutes
Soft Play: Approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on the package
Additional time may be required for larger orders.
🏰 Can I collect and set up my own bouncy castle or soft play?
Our bouncy castles and soft play packages must be delivered, installed and packed down by our team for health and safety reasons.
Our toddler castles are the only castles available for customer collection, where specified.
🌧️ What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first.
We will assess the weather conditions on the morning of your booking. If rain or excessive wind makes an outdoor setup unsafe, we recommend having an indoor or undercover backup location.
If your event cannot proceed outdoors and no suitable backup location is available, your deposit will be credited towards a future booking or you may reschedule, subject to availability.
🎈 How much space do I need for the Bubble House?
The Bubble House requires:
- Minimum floor space: 6m × 8m
- Minimum height: 3.3m
- Bubble House dome: 4m diameter
- Tunnel: 2m
- Height: 3.2m
Please ensure the required space is available and clear before our team arrives.
🫧 Do I need to clean the Bubble House?
No. Cleaning and removal of internal balloons is included in your hire and will be completed by our team after collection.
However, excessive mess or cleaning beyond normal use may incur an additional cleaning fee. This can include excessive sunscreen, sticky handprints, dirt, mud or other difficult-to-remove marks.
Any additional cleaning fee will be invoiced and payable within 48 hours.
👨👩👧👦 How many people can be inside the Bubble House?
A maximum of 6 people are permitted inside the Bubble House at one time.
This helps maintain safe airflow and proper balloon circulation.
Remember: fewer people = better balloon movement! 🎈
Please do not lie on the floor or block the airflow.
Important Bouncy Castle Information
🌦️ Weather Policy
We understand that New Zealand weather can be unpredictable!
Your booking will be confirmed on the morning of setup. If conditions are too wet or windy for us to safely install the castle, you will receive a full credit voucher or have the option to reschedule, subject to availability.
Safety always comes first.
🎉 Public Holiday Surcharge
We love celebrating with you on public holidays too!
A 50% public holiday surcharge applies to bookings on public holidays to cover additional staffing costs.
This includes:
New Year’s Day • Waitangi Day • Good Friday • Easter Monday • ANZAC Day • King’s Birthday • Matariki • Labour Day • Christmas Day • Boxing Day
Please note: New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve are not statutory public holidays, but additional charges may apply where applicable.
⚡ Power & Generators
Most of our bouncy castles require continuous power from an electrical outlet or suitable generator.
If your event is at a park or venue without power, you will need to provide your own generator.
Each blower requires a minimum of 2.5kW of power.
Please confirm with your generator supplier that the generator can safely operate the required equipment for the full duration of your event.
HU&CO Party Hire does not hire generators, but we may be able to recommend a supplier.
